# Names, never numbers

> Philos shows who responded to what you shared, not a count of likes. Here's what changes when the number goes away.

## In short

- There are no like counts and no follower counts on Philos.
- When people respond to your post, you see their names.
- Without a score to chase, you share for the people who'll see it.

Think about the last photo you posted somewhere public. Did you check how many likes it got? Most of us do. The number arrives within minutes, and it quietly tells us whether the moment was worth sharing.

## What a count does to a moment

A like count turns a moment into a score. A photo of your grandmother's birthday gets compared, without anyone meaning to, with a stranger's holiday and a brand's advert. Ten likes feels like failure when the last post got forty.

The people who matter most often don't like posts at all. Your mum might never tap a heart in her life. In a count, she's invisible.

## What Philos shows instead

When someone responds to what you shared, Philos shows you who it was.

![A Philos post of a newborn's hand, with a note under it that says Mum and Nani responded](https://getphilos.com/_image?href=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.getphilos.com%2Fv1%2Fcms%2Fimages%2Fca63b24f75d647d125a1e2a7ef806ff51276d4e78f01a5aa6f35ecffa00a9ae0.webp&w=1080&h=2348&q=78&f=webp)

*Not a number: Mum and Nani responded.*

Two names say more than any number. You know who saw it, who cared, and who you might call tonight.

**What you won't find on Philos**

- Like counts on posts.
- Follower counts on profiles.
- A score for how well a post did.

## Sharing for people, not for a score

When there's no score, the question changes. You stop asking "will this do well?" and start asking "who would love to see this?" Then you share it with them, and only them.

> A count asks how many. A name tells you who.

That's the whole idea behind Philos. Your space holds up to 49 people, every post goes to the people you choose, and what comes back is their names.
